Original Villain Legacy

 RangerLegacy

When Power Rangers finds it attempts to tell its own story separate from the sentai, they usually add their own original villain to make it easier to tell that story or to fill up a villain roster that might be too small in the sentai.

In the article, I will be going through all the original villains Power Rangers has added throughout the years.

Original Villains

Lord Zedd
Voiced By: Robert Axelrod, Andrew Laing & Fred Tatasciore
Seasons: Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Mighty Morphin’ Alien Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers In Space, Power Rangers Dino Fury & Power Rangers Cosmic Fury
Lord Zedd is the self-entitled Emperor Of Evil that travels to the Moon Palace to banish Rita Repulsa after she failed to take over the Earth, planning to take it over himself. To aid in his conquest, he brings Z Putties with him, more powerful versions of the Putty Patrollers and has the ability to create his own monster, transforming them from animals or everyday objects from his Z Staff. One of Lord Zedd’s first victories was to successfully completely drain Tommy Oliver of his Green Ranger powerful. He also builds his own evil zord, Serpentera that is shown to be super powerful but requires a significant amount of energy to function properly. When Rita Repulsa comes back to the Moon Palace, he becomes the victim of a love potion, falling in love with her and getting married. He eventually get an antidote for the love potion given to him by Rita Repulsa, but it is revealed that Lord Zedd developed real feelings for Rita Repulsa. He is moved to the sidelines when his father-in-law, Master Vile attempts to defeat the Power Rangers and take over the Earth. When Master Vile returns to his home galaxy, he returns to leading the attack on Earth, successfully obtaining the Ninja Coins and destroying them. He then orders Rito & Goldar to plant bombs inside the Command Center after finding a secret entrance and successfully blows it up after obtaining the Zeo Crystal. He is thrown out of the Moon Palace by the Machine Empire after celebrating the destruction of the Command Center, moving in with Master Vile for a short time. Lord Zedd eventually returns to the Moon, where he plotted to overthrow the Machine Empire in his Mobile Base. His first attempt was to send Louie Kaboom to take over the Machine Empire after King Mondo is destroyed by the Zeo Rangers, which backfired after he goes rogue. He finally succeeded in destroying the Machine Empire by giving them a bomb disguised as a peace offering. He
joins the United Alliance Of Evil after Dark Specter conquered Eltar and captured Zordon. During the Universe Of Evil’s Universal Conquest, Lord Zedd is given the task of attacking the Vica Galaxy but is purified by Zordon’s Energy Wave after Zordon is killed by Andros. He is revived by the necromancer, Reaghoul and become his servant while under the influence of the Compliance Collar. He assists Reaghoul in capturing the Dino Fury Rangers for Void Knight until he is freed from his Compliance Collar, leaving Earth to search for his missing Z Staff. Lord Zedd eventually obtains it after releasing Scrozzle from a Grid Battleforce Facility and teams up with The Voids in order to use their resources to build generals to assist him in gaining intel on the location of Rafkon so that he could obtain the Sporix Generator, using it to create more Sporix to create an unstoppable army. He succeeds in obtaining the Sporix Generator, destroying Rafkon before traveling to Earth to activate the Sporix Generator. He is stopped however by Master Green who traps him inside of a crystal and is imprisoned on a distant planet for months until he is released from his crystal imprisonment by Bajillia Naire on Zordnia to lead her forces in order to start an intergalactic war. He sets up his main base on Eltar, the home planet of his arch enemy, Zordon. He later reveals to Ollie Akana his master plan, which is to infuse himself with the energy of the captured Morphin’ Masters, becoming the most powerful being in the universe, succeeding when he is infused with this energy but is captured in the Master Captivator by Scrozzle & Bajillia Naire where they reveal that they planned on using him to make an evil version of the Z-Wave this entire time. Before the energy tube containing Lord Zedd’s evil energy can burst, the Cosmic Fury Rangers teleport into the tube to convince Zedd to release the Morphin’ Masters and eventually agrees to in exchange for them sparring his life. He’s later tricked into thinking he destroyed them but in actuality was teleported to Nibyro, where he is trapped for all eternity in an illusion where he is constantly bickering with his wife, Rita Repulsa.

Lord Zedd was most likely created to give the show a fresh new outlook pertaining to the villain footage so that they would not have to rely on the same Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger villain footage over and over again.

Z Putties
Seasons: Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Season 2 & Power Rangers In Space
The Z Putties are stronger versions of regular Putty Patrollers that are used as Lord Zedd’s personal foot soldiers.
Their one weakness is the giant Z on their chest, breaking apart whenever it is hit by an enemy.

The Z Putties were gray repaints of the Season 1 grunts, the Putty Patrollers and were most likely made for a better connection to the first season.

Tenga Warriors
Seasons: Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Season 3, Mighty Morphin’ Alien Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo & Power Rangers In Space
The Tenga Warriors are giant bird-like creatures that are given to Rita & Zedd as eggs by Rito Revolto as a wedding present. After they hatch from their eggs, they are used as Rita & Zedd primary foot soldiers. When Master Vile arrives on the Moon, he gives them special food that enhances their strength.

The Tenga Warriors were essentially reused from the MMPR Movie to get mileage out of those costumes.

Divatox
Played By: Carol Hoyt & Hilary Shepard
Seasons: Power Rangers Turbo & Power Rangers In Space
Divatox is a Space Pirate that travels to Earth to conquer it as revenge against the Turbo Rangers after they thwarted her plans in marrying Maligore. Her original plan of attack was to plant detonators disguised as various objects while sending monster to distract the Turbo Rangers until the detonator were set off. She eventually gives up on this plan for more precise and calculated plans of attack. When testing a teleportation beam, she develops amnesia for a short time, working at pizza parlor until her cohort finds her and restore her memory. After her brother, General Havoc arrives to deliver the Space Base she ordered, she moves her Subcraft there and become her new base of operations. Divatox pilots the Eagle Divazord after the Divazord are created by Porto but is forced to retreat after it glitches. After learning the location of the Power Chamber, Divatox prepares a full scale attack and succeeds in destroying the chamber once and for all. Before she is able to take over the planet, she is summoned by Dark Specter to attend a conference on the Cimmerian Planet with the rest of the United Alliance Of Evil. She
is recruited by Dark Specter to join the United Alliance Of Evil shortly after destroying the Power Chamber. From then on, Divatox spends a majority of her time transporting Zordon from planet to planet. During the Universe Of Evil’s Universal Conquest, Divatox is given the task of attacking Gratha but is purified by Zordon’s Energy Wave after Zordon is killed by Andros.

Divatox was most likely created due to the fact that a character similar to her named Zonette in Gekisou Sentai Carranger had a very revealing outfit.

Piranhatrons
Seasons: Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers In Space & Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
The Piranhatrons are fish-like warriors that Divatox uses as foot soldiers.

The Piranhatrons were most likely made due to Divatox using these foot soldiers in the Turbo Movie.

Dark Specter
Voiced By: Christopher Cho
Season: Power Rangers In Space
Dark Specter is giant lava-like creature and the self-proclaimed Monarch Of Evil that successfully forms an alliance with various villainous factions together known as the United Alliance Of Evil. He also successfully conquers Eltar and captures Zordon, where he attempts to drain his power with lava to destroy him for good. When the Red Space Ranger sneaks into his United Alliance Of Evil Conference, he assigns Astronema, the Princess Of Evil, to attack the Earth and prevent the Space Rangers from finding Zordon. When Astronema learns her true identity as Karone, he orders Darkonda to recapture her and turn her back into Astronema with cybernetic implants. However, this works too well as Astronema attempts to destroy him by connecting the Psycho Rangers to his life force but are destroyed before his life force is drained completely. Dark Specter eventually order all of the various villain factions under him to attack the universe His victory is short lived however when he is destroyed by Darkonda when he fires a planet destroying missile at him, causing him to implode.

Dark Specter was most likely used to take advantage of the Maligore costume created for Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie as well as having a more creative looking villain than his counterpart, King Javious who was literally a giant eye.

Astronema
Played By: Melody Perkins
Season: Power Rangers In Space
Astronema is a Karovian that was once known as Karone that was kidnapped at a young age by the bounty hunter, Darkonda and was raised by Ecliptor to be an evil and cunning warrior. She is eventually given the title, Princess Of Evil by Dark Specter and is tasked with preventing the Space Rangers from finding Zordon, attacking the Earth with her army of loyal monsters. During an altercation with the Red Space Ranger, she loses her prized locket, which reveals to Andros that she is her long lost sister, Karone. After some soul searching and doubt, Astronema decides to defect to the side of good until she is needed to sneak onto the Dark Fortress to stop an asteroid from destroying the Earth. However, she is captured by a reprogrammed Ecliptor and is turned into a cyborg herself, turning her into a more evil version of Astronema. She then proves her more evil nature by revealing that she intends on usurping Dark Specter by connecting her Psycho Rangers to his life force, slowly draining him until they are destroyed by the Space Rangers. She then attempts to grow her army by capturing humans and trapping them into Data Card in her Secret City. This ends up failing too, with Astronema eventually leading the United Alliance Of Evil’s Universal Conquest, becoming the Queen Of Evil after Dark Specter is destroyed by Darkonda. This does not last long however as she is killed during an altercation with her brother, the Red Space Ranger when he sneaks onto the Dark Fortress to rescue Zordon. She is revived however thanks to her being purified by Zordon’s Energy Wave.

Like Divatox, Astronema was probably created due to the fact that her sentai counterpart, Shibolena from Denji Sentai Megaranger had too much of a revealing outfit.

Quantrons
Season: Power Rangers In Space
The Quantrons are metallic warriors that are used by Astronema and the United Alliance Of Evil as foot soldiers.

The Quantrons were most likely made to fit better with the space themes of Power Rangers In Space.

Scorpius
Voiced By: Kim Strauss
Season: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
Scorpius is a scorpion-like alien warlord that desired to have many powerful items in his possessions, including the Quasar Sabers & the Lights Of Orion. Due to him being immobile, he has various generals lead his forces on the ground, the first being Furio to capture the Quasar Saber & Lights Of Orion and Treacheron after Furio destroys himself in a cave. He also has a human looking daughter named Trakeena, that he cares deeply for and desires to keep safe at all time. He eventually constructs a cocoon for her so that she could mutate into an insect with magnificent powers but she refuses to enter it and leaves the Scorpion Stinger for a short time after he attempts to force her into the cocoon. Shortly after this, a treacherous being named Deviot offers his services to him while secretly attempting to destroy him for the cocoon. He persuades Scorpius to fight the Galaxy Rangers himself after he’s tricked into thinking they captured Trakeena. He is severely injured after taking a direct attack from the Red Galaxy Ranger and retreat to the Scorpion Stinger, passing on his powers and evil empire to his daughter, Trakeena before he dies, with one of his tentacles becoming her a new staff for her to utilize in battle.

Scorpius was most likely created to better match the bug theme of the early Seijuu Sentai Gingaman monsters.

Trakeena
Played By: Amy Miller Rolle
Seasons: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy & Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
Trakeena is a bug/human-looking woman and the spoiled & vain daughter of Scorpius that desires to aid her father in his goals but ends up being sheltered by him due to her lack of fighting abilities. She does however assist his generals a few times, helping Furio & Treacheron attempt to get the Lights Of Orion, taking on insect-like armor to protect her from any harm from battle. During her mission with Treacheron, she is forced back to the Scorpion Stinger, which infuriates Trakeena, framing him as a traitor to get him back for her embarrassment. After Trakeena decides to destroy the Galaxy Rangers herself by sending down a monster named Crumummy to steal the beauty of the women of Terra Venture and donning a human disguise to poison the Magna Defender, Scorpius nearly forces Trakeena into a cocoon to becoming an insect with magnificent powers but leaves the Scorpion Stinger in fear of losing her human beauty. She eventually finds her way to Onyx, where she meets a warrior named Villamax that trains her to become a cunning warrior. Shortly after finishing her training, she hears of her father’s fight with the Galaxy Rangers and returns to the Scorpion Stinger to say goodbye to him before he dies, inheriting her father’s powers, army and the Scorpion Stinger, which she intended on using to exact revenge on the Galaxy Rangers. She nearly exacts her revenge on the Red Galaxy Ranger until her fight is interrupted, with her sending down various monsters to attack Terra Venture to enact her revenge going forward. That is until she fuses with Deviot, gaining his evil traits and successfully making Terra Venture crash on Mirinoi’s Moon and sending her entire army of Stingwingers as suicide bombers to attack Terra Venture as its citizens are evacuating to Mirinoi. After the Scorpion Stinger is gunned down by the Astro Megaship, she finally uses the cocoon to transform into a more bug-like form, using these new powers to energize Terra Venture’s main dome and colliding it with Mirinoi. She is stopped however by the Red Galaxy Ranger, fighting her one-on-one and eventually fighting the whole team until she is presumably destroyed by a short range attack form the Red Armored Battlizer. It Is later revealed that she survived her battle with the Galaxy Rangers, gaining a scar on her face from the battle that ruined her beautiful face. She travels to Earth to team up with the demon, Triskull to drain the life force out of the citizens of Mariner Bay, so that she is able to mutate back into her bug-like form. She fails in doing so however due to Prince Olympius poisoning the captured life force, mutating her into a giant demonic creature that was only able to be destroyed by the Omega Megazord powered-up with the Lights Of Orion.

Trakeena was most likely created to fit the bug theme of Scorpius and the Stingwingers and/or to have a female villain that is more covered up, unlike her Seijuu Sentai Gingaman counterpart, Shelinda.

Stingwingers
Season: Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
The Stingwingers are bug-like creatures that are used by Scorpius and later Trakeena as foot soldiers.
The Stingerwingers are entirely depleted when Trakeena uses all of them as suicide bombers to attack a dying Terra Venture.

The Stingwingers were most likely made to fit the bug theming of the main villains, Scorpius & Trakeena.

Ransik
Played By: Vernon Wells
Season: Power Rangers Time Force
Ransik is a mutant crime lord that was created from a genetic mutation spill that created babies in the future. He is shunned from human society due to his deformities as a mutant, which motivate him to build and lead and army in rebellion. To aid in this rebellion, Ransik gains the ability to create weapons out his bones after freeing Orgs in the outskirt of the futuristic utopia and steals Cyclobot technology from Louis Fericks. During his rebellion, he is captured by Alex, the Red Time Force Ranger and is sentenced to a life sentence in the Cryo Prison. However, his followers free him on the way to his cryogenic imprisonment, hijacking the Cryo Prison and traveling to the year 2001 to take over Earth before Time Force is established, attacking the city of Silver Hill with his prison full of Mutant Criminals. Ransik mostly stays on the sidelines for the most part, due to a bite he got from the mutant, Venomark, which requires him to constantly take a serum. Ransik has a daughter named Nadira, who he cares deeply for, to the extent of forcing the Blue Time Force Ranger to go on a date with her when he learns she has a crush on the Blue Time Force Ranger. Ransik eventually run out mutant criminals and takes on the Time Force Rangers himself, injuring his daughter in the altercation, seeing the error of his ways and gives up to Time Force willingly, denouncing all evil doings.

Ransik was most likely created to give Time Force a more menacing villain due to the fact his Mirai Sentai Timeranger counterpart, Don Dolnero didn’t really fit the bill.
However, his suit is used for the comic relief villain, Gluto.

Master Org
Played By: Ilia Volok
Season: Power Rangers Wild Force
Master Org was formerly known as Viktor Adler, a human scientist that attempted to discover the lost civilization of Animaria with his colleagues Richard Evans & Elizabeth Evans. He develops feeling for Elizabeth and almost proposes marriage, but Richard beat hims to the punch. The group eventually finds the original resting place of Animaria and the remains of the Original Master Org. Viktor, consumed with jealousy, ingests the Org Seeds, giving him Org-like powers to kill Richard & Elizabeth. Viktor Adler then assume the role of Master Org years later, traveling to the Org Nexus to lead the Orgs. He is eventually found out by Duke Orgs, Toxica & Jindrax and turns them into mindless slaves for a short time. After this spell is broken, Master Org attempts to destroy Cole Evans, the son of Richard & Elizabeth and the Red Wild Force Ranger, but is severely injured and stripped of his powers. He is replaced as leader of the Orgs by Mandilok, who presumably kills him after they throws him off a cliff. However, the real Master Org is reborn inside his corpse, where he grows a real horn. He eventually sends the Duke Org, Onikage to the Org Nexus to prepare for his return by killing Toxica and kills Mandilok himself for treason. Master Org then uses a kidnapped Princess Shayla’s necklace to construct an Org Heart to become an unstoppable being who succeeded in destroying all the Wildzords. Unfortunately for him, all the Wildzords were able to be revived and is destroyed by a combined blast from them, with his Org Heart being destroyed by the Jungle Sword.

Master Org was most likely created to give Wild Force a staple main villain, an aspect that was not present in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger.

However, a sentai villain suit is used for the Master Org’s Final Form.

Lothor
Played By: Grant McFarland
Seasons: Power Rangers Ninja Storm & Power Rangers Dino Thunder
Lothor is an Evil Space Ninja Warlord that was once known as Kiya Watanabe, a Wind Ninja Academy Student enrolled under the earth ninja techniques and the brother of Kanoi Watanabe, the eventual sensei of the Wind Ninja Academy. He attempts to steal the Samurai Amulet from Miko, but is banished from Earth, where he grows an army of Evil Space Ninjas, returning to Earth to capture and destroy every Ninja Academy. Lothor eventually reveals his true ambitions and goal, intentionally having the Wind Rangers, Thunder Rangers & Green Samurai Rangers destroy his Evil Space Ninjas to feed The Abyss Of Evil. He succeeds in accomplishing this and also successfully obtain the Samurai Amulet to strip the Wind Rangers, Thunder Rangers & Green Samurai Rangers of their powers. Despite the size of his revived army and powers, Lothor is banished to the lowest depths of the Abyss Of Evil by the Wind Rangers. He
is able to escape the Abyss Of Evil and disguises himself as his brother, Sensei Watanabe in order to trick the Wind Rangers into activating Wind Morphers that turn them evil. When Mesogog hears word of his Evil Power Rangers, he offers to align their two forces together in order to take over the world. However, when his plans fail, Lothor is betrayed by Mesogog and is shrunken and trapped inside a jar.

Lothor was most likely created due to the fact his sentai counterpart, Tao Zanto was immobile for most of the Ninpu Sentai Hurricanger.

However, Tao Zanto’s final form is used for the Lothorzord.

Mesogog
Played By: Latham Gaines
Season: Power Rangers Dino Thunder
Mesogog is a lizard/dinosaur hybrid created by Anton Mercer after he drank an unknown concoction, becoming the alter ego of Anton Mercer that desires the complete extinction of the human race and the revival of the dinosaur race. To accomplish this task, he needed the Dino Gems, which eventually became the power source of the Dino Rangers. Mesogog eventually separates himself from Anton Mercer in order to enact his final plan of transforming the human race into dinosaurs with a laser powered by the Dino Gems. He fails at this however when the Dino Rangers blow up his Island Fortress. He survives the destruction of his base and uses the energies he absorbed from the Dino Gems to mutate into a more dinosaur-like being. Only when the Dino Rangers used the ultimate powers of the Dino Gems were they able to destroy Mesogog.

Mesogog was most likely created to give Dino Thunder an active villain due to the fact that Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger main villain Dezumozorlya was inactive for most of the series.

Elsa
Season: Power Rangers Dino Thunder
Elsa was once a regular woman that was transformed by Mesogog into his cyborg henchwoman to assist him as a fighter and monster maker. She is also used as a spy for him at Reefside High School, creating her alter ego, Principal Randall. After Zeltrax is presumably destroyed by the Black Dino Ranger, she becomes Mesogog’s second-in-command and secretly starts to undermine him after he constantly threatens her after failing to defeat the Dino Rangers. After Mesogog finds this out and the Dino Ranger learns about her alter ego, Mesogog drains her of the power he gave to her, transforming her into a regular human. She is then used as a shield by Zeltrax after he kidnaps her until she is saved by the Black Dino Ranger and attends the Senior Prom after this, revealing that she is to become the new Principal of Reefside High School.

Elsa was most likely created to match Mesogog’s darker clothing tone.

Tyrannodrones
Seasons: Power Rangers Dino Thunder & Power Rangers SPD
The Tyrannodrones are dinosaur/reptile hybrid creatures that are created by Anton Mercer & Tommy Oliver.
After Anton Mercer becomes Mesogog, he uses the Tyrannodrones as his foot soldiers.

The Tyrannodrones were most likely created to fit the reptilian theme of the main villain, Mesogog.

Omni
Voiced By: Geoff Dolan
Season: Power Rangers SPD
Omni is a giant brain-like creature and the true leader of the Troobian Empire, while his servant Emperor Gruumm leads his forces as the figurehead leader. He orders Emperor Gruumm to steal resources from the Earth so that he may use those resources to construct a body for himself. Once his body is completed, he attacks Newtech City and fights the SWAT Megazord. The SWAT Megazord is only able to destroy Omni when Commander Cruger opens up a door that lets the B-Squad Rangers blast him from the inside.

Omni does not have a counterpart in SPD’s Sentai Counterpart Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger but does share many similar traits with the main villain Dezumozorlya from Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger.

Emperor Gruumm
Played By: Rene Naufahu
Season: Power Rangers SPD
Emperor Gruumm is a skeleton-like alien and the figurehead leader of the Troobian Empire, an evil empire that succeeds in the takeover and destruction of many planets. He sets his sights on Earth as his next planet of conquest, where he plans on stealing resources so that he may construct a body for his master, Omni The Magnificence. He has a fierce rivalry with Anubis Cruger due to him cutting off a piece of his horn during his attack on the planet, Sirius. He is thought to be presumed dead during Omni’s battle with the SWAT Megazord, but survives the battle and challenges Anubis Cruger to one final duel, but loses and is trapped in a Containment Card.

Emperor Gruumm was most likely created to give SPD a staple main villain, an aspect that Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger did not really have unless you count the recurring villain,Agent Abrella, whose costume was used for the SPD minor villain, Broodwing.

Mora/Morgana
Played by: Olivia James-Baird & Josephine Davidson
Season: Power Rangers SPD
Morgana is a human-like being with the imagination and maturity of a child that makes a deal with Emperor Gruumm to make her child, renaming herself Mora in exchange for her skill of being able to create monsters from drawings. After constant failures from Mora, Emperor Gruumm reverts her back to her true form until Morgana is able to help forward his goals. Morgana then shows her skills as a warrior by donning a purple battle suit and calling on her friends, Shorty & Devastation to aid her in the takeover of Earth. She nearly succeeded in this but is stopped by the arrival of the Omega Ranger. Morgana continues the attempt to regain her Mora form by recruiting various space criminals, fighting the B-Squad herself and drawing monsters for Gruumm until he returns her into back into her Mora form after she obtains a synthetic plasma from Newtech City. Mora becomes curious about a secret room in the Terror Spacecraft that eventually leads to her losing her own will after Omni turns her into his loyal and emotionless servant. During Omni’s arrival to Earth, Mora is sent to dispose of Commander Cruger by unleash monsters at him from her drawing book until she runs out of paper, with Commander Cruger trapping her in a Containment Card.

Mora/Morgana shares many similar traits with the Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger villain, Lije and uses the battle armor from the Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger villain-of-the-week, Succubus.

Leelee Pimvare
Played By: Holly Shanahan
Season: Power Rangers Mystic Force
Leelee is the daughter of Necrolai and a spy for The Morlocks, being able to befriend the Mystic Rangers due to her human-like appearance. Leelee later reveals her identity to the Mystic Rangers after they are captured by Koragg and is promised to her as pets. After Octomus is presumably destroyed by Leanbow, Leelee decides she is fed up with The Underworld and gets a job at Rock Porium. However, the Mystic Rangers don’t trust her until she proves she has changed after she rescues Udonna from Hekatoid with Clare & Phineas. After Octomus is defeated, Leelee begins a relationship with Phineas and lives in a condo with her purified mother.

Leelee is an original villain but shares similar traits to Magiranger villains, Nai & Mare, the two parts of Necrolai’s sentai counterpart, Vancuria.

Flurious
Played By: Gerald Urquhart
Season: Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
Flurious was originally a human being that fought his brother, Moltor for possession of the Corona Aurora. He eventually find it but the crown turns him into an ice-like creature and banishes him to an icy planet. He is freed after Andrew Hartford finds the Corona Aurora and attempt to finds it and its jewels with his army of Chillers. Despite his foot soldiers, Flurious mostly stay on the sidelines and bides his time until the Overdrive Rangers defeat The Fearcats & Kamdor. After obtaining the Blue Sapphire from Norg and obtaining the Corona Aurora after taking it from Moltor after he destroys him, he obtains the rest of the Corona Aurora Jewels after raiding Hartford Mansion and freezes the Earth. He then use the Corona Aurora to transform into a more monstrous form, giving the Overdrive Rangers a hard time until the Red Overdrive Ranger destroys him with a close range attack from his Red Sentinel Ranger Battlizer.

Flurious was most likely created to better match the villain Moltor, a trait that his GoGo Sentai Boukenger counterpart Gajah did not share.

However, they do share a final form.

Norg
Played By: Kelson Henderson
Season: Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
Norg is a yeti that has his Ice Den commandeered by Flurious after he arrives on Earth. Norg attempts to befriend Flurious and gain his favor by stealing the Blue Sapphire from Kamdor for Flurious. After Flurious obtains the Corona Aurora and its jewel, Flurious order his Chillers to destroy him and Tyzonn’s fiancée, Vella. However, Norg survives this altercation and escorts Vella to reunite with Tyzonn and takes up residence at Hartford Mansion.

Norg was most likely created to give Flurious someone to interact with due to him not doing really much of anything up until the finale.

Miratrix
Played By: Ria Vandervis
Season: Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
Miratrix is a human-like female warrior that got into some trouble on another planet but is saved by Kamdor, becoming his loyal servant after he is trapped in a jewel. She eventually travels to Earth to search for the Corona Aurora Jewels, disguising herself as a human girl named Mira to woo Dax Lo, the Blue Overdrive Ranger in order to obtain the Scrolls Of Neptune, but is eventually found out after she attempts to steal the Scrolls Of Neptune. She then attempts to find the Corona Aurora Jewels herself until she is able to free Kamdor from his prison jewel, becoming his backup to fight the Overdrive Rangers. Miratrix is eventually fed up with her treatment, defecting from Kamdor and attempts to gain more power by using the Octavian Chalice to fill her with energy, which also transforms her into a giant blue owl creature. She fights the Overdrive Rangers and is taken down the the BattleFleet Megazord, returning to her normal state and attempts to regain Kamdor’s favor, but Kamdor imprisons her inside a prison jewel.

Miratrix was strangely created even though her GoGo Sentai Boukenger counterpart, Shizuka blended better with Kamdor’s bluish costume.

However, an unused villain is used for Miratrix’s Final Form.

Thrax
Played By: Glen Levy
Season: Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
Thrax is the son of Rita Repulsa & Lord Zedd that was trapped in a Space Dumpster by the Sentinel Knight. As the Sentinel Knight grew weaker, Thrax is able to free himself from the Space Dumpster and recruits the various villain factions fighting the Overdrive Rangers to form an Evil Alliance to disconnect them the the Morphin’ Grid. After Sentinel Knight creates his team of Veteran Rangers to replace the Overdrive Rangers, he sends his monster, Vulturus to fight them while he prevented the Overdrive Rangers from obtaining Excelsior. After failing to accomplish this, Thrax leads his Evil Alliance to destroy the Overdrive Rangers & Veteran Ranger, fighting the Black Ranger in a one-on-one battle but is destroyed by a newly powered up Sentinel Knight.

Thrax was created to give the 15th-anniversary episode “Once A Ranger” a closer connection to older seasons, primarily Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

Dai Shi
Voiced By: Geoff Dolan
Season: Power Rangers Jungle Fury
Dai Shi is a dragon-like creature that led an attack on humanity known as The Beast Wars. Dai Shi is be trapped inside a chest by The Order Of The Claw, where he becomes a spiritual form. He is accidentally be released by Pai Zhuq student, Jarrod, who uses his body to lead his armies and learn more about humanity by living as a human. Dai Shi eventually loses control of Jarrod and enacts the Final Beast Wars by opening up a portal to the Spirit World and resurrecting his army. Dai Shi then regain his corporeal form after stealing the Pai Zhuq Master’s Animal Spirits and nearly destroys the Jungle Fury Rangers. However, after being severely weakened from an inside attack from Jarrod, Dai Shi is destroyed by a combined attack from the Chosen Three.

Dai Shi was most likely created to give Jungle Fury a stapler main villain.

His final form, however, is the Juken Sentai Gekiranger’s character, Long’s Final Form.

Venjix
Voiced By: Andrew Laing
Seasons: Power Rangers RPM & Power Rangers Beast Morphers
Venjix is a sentient computer virus created and used by Doctor K to escape the Alphabet Soup think tank. However, she failed to install a firewall and Venjix began to spread around the entire Earth. Venjix eventually succeeded in taking over the entire planet except for the city of Corinth. Venjix has the ability to create robots and sky crafts that he uses to enact his conquest of Corinth. He eventually grows tired of his army failing him and decided to build several bodies for him to pilot himself. To enact his final conquest of Earth, Venjix planned to use a device to activate all the hybrids in Corinth and use them to finally take over the domed city. His plans are thwarted however after Tenaya 15 sends a virus into his mainframe. His ultimate body is destroyed by the Control Tower falling on him and he is presumably deleted. However, Venjix is revealed to have survived and is last seen as a blinking eye in Scott Truman’s Cell Shift Morpher.

Venjix was most likely created to give RPM a staple main villain.

A few of his mobile forms, however, are important villains from Engine Sentai Go-onger.

Tenaya
Played By: Adelaide Kane
Season: Power Rangers RPM
Tenaya 7 is a hybrid that had her mind completely erased into thinking she was a Generation 7 Attack Bot that looked human. She was in fact the blind human sister of Dillion, Ranger Operator Series Black that is first tasked with disguising herself as a potential candidate for Ranger Operator Series Green. She almost accomplishes this task before Ziggy Grover himself bonds with the Rev Morpher. Tenaya is a capable fighter, being able to fight the Ranger Series Operators herself and is equipped with many weapons and abilities, including a hand blaster and being able to detach her hand and control it remotely. Tenaya eventually learns that she is in face human after seeing herself bleed after a battle with Ranger Operator Series Black and questions her role in life. She defects to the side of good for a short time until she is captured by Kilobyte and is brainwashed into mindlessly serving Venjix, given upgrades and rebranding her Tenaya 15. During the final battle against Venjix, Tenaya is given a cure to free herself from Venjix’s control and assists in destroying Venjix for good. After destroying Venjix, she leaves Corinth with Dillon & Summer Landsdown to travel The Wasteland.

Tenaya was most likely created due to the fact that the female character in Engine Sentai Go-onger, Kegalesia looked too water-themed.

Sledge

Seasons: Power Rangers Dino Charge, Power Rangers Dino Super Charge, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel & Power Rangers Beast Morphers
Sledge is an intergalactic bounty hunter that follows Keeper to earth to obtain the Energems. To accomplish this, Sledge has a ship filled with alien bounties, eager to do his bidding. Sledge eventually obtains the Purple Energem to power his laser blaster, which he uses to take on the Dino Charge Rangers himself in order to obtain the Red Energem. After the Red Dino Charge Ranger re-obtains his Energem, he fights him one-on-one and loses, inevitably causing his ship to crash into the Earth, presumably killing him. However, it is revealed that Sledge survived and faked his death in order to plant six Greenzilla Eggs around the world. He later returns to obtain the Dark Energem and marries Poisandra before enacting his final plan in capturing the Earth in a net and selling it to Kamen 5. The Dino Charge Rangers attempts to stop him by using the destroying the Dark Energem, which causes his ship and the Earth to go through a portal that transports him to the Main Dimension. The Dino Charge Rangers then uses the true powers of the Energems to travel to the past to destroy past Sledge and succeeds by tricking him to grow giant and capturing him in a net and hurling him into the Sun.

Sledge is a completely new design that took the place of Deboss from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.

Heckyl
Played By: Ryan Carter
Seasons: Power Rangers Dino Charge & Power Rangers Dino Super Charge
Heckyl is a former inhabitant of Sentai 6 that attempted to keep the Dark Energem from Lord Arcanon. However, he bonds with it himself, losing all of memories and turning evil. He is eventually captured by Sledge, being a prisoner on his ship in Solitary Confinement. Heckyl is released from Solitary Confinement to use his human-like appearance to obtain the Purple Energem. He fails at this and is thrown back into Solitary Confinement until Sledge is presumably destroyed when his ship crashes on Earth. He then takes over Sledge’s Ship and plots to obtain the Energem by getting a job at the Dino Bite Cafe and getting close to the Dino Charge Rangers. Heckyl’s true identity is eventually revealed to the Dino Charge Rangers, with him sending monster going forward to obtain the Energems. When Lord Arcanon arrives on Earth, Heckyl is put back into Solitary Confinement, where he begins to remember his past life and is separated from Snide after Snide makes a deal with Lord Arcanon. Heckyl then teams up with Dino Charge Ranger to defeat Sledge and his crew and after accomplishing this, he becomes the Keeper of the Dark Energem.

Heckyl is a completely original character but his alter ego Snide is a costume reuse of a villain from the Kyoryuger Dino Movie named Neo-Geildon, who is an updated character of the Sentai Counterpart of Zeltrax.

Though his head is original, his body is taken from the character, Baron Nero from Ressha Sentai ToQger.

Evox
Voiced By: Andrew Laing
Seasons: Power Rangers RPM & Power Rangers Beast Morphers
The Venjix Virus is a sentient computer virus created by Doctor K that nearly succeeded in taking over Earth in the RPM Dimension. The Ranger Series Operators are able to defeat Venjix, but unbeknownst to them, a copy of the Venjix Virus laid dormant in a Cell Shift Morpher. This Cell Shift Morpher comes into the possession of a young Nate Silva, who experiments on it by combining Morph-X & Snake DNA, unknowingly changing a fragment of its programming. This fragment of the Venjix Virus takes on the name “Evox” and laid dormant in Grid Battleforce’s Computer Systems until he could achieve his goal of taking over the Morphin’ Grid. After laying dormant in Grid Battleforce’s computer systems for years, Evox finally strikes on the day the Morph-X Tower System are activated. Evox then takes control of its main computer system and create Dark Avatars of the original Red Ranger & Yellow Ranger candidates, Blaze & Roxy, who are teleported to the Cyber Dimension, being trapped there until he obtains enough Morph-X to power up a teleporter to return to Earth. Evox’s first attempt to return to Earth was to activate a Cybergate, built from technology stolen from Grid Battleforce and download himself into a robotic body built by Nate Silva. However, this plan fails after the robotic body made for him becomes Steel, the Silver Beast Morphers Ranger, with him unable to download himself into his body due to him having human genetic makeup. Evox’s next plan was to transport a Morph-X Tower to the Cyber Dimension so that he has enough power to create a mobile form and power up Scrozzle’s Transporter. After downloading himself into a mobile form, Evox grows giant and nearly succeeded in teleporting to Earth. However, his new body is destroyed by the ricochet after the Morph-X Tower is blown up by the Red Beast Morphers Ranger. Evox survives the Morph-X Tower explosion in the Cyber Dimension by downloading himself into Mayor Daniels, eventually possessing his body, with him requiring Morph-X to keep up his new human form or risk turning back into Evox. Under the guise of Mayor Daniels, Evox begins a Global Campaign for worldwide Morph-X Distribution to enact his plans of taking over the Morphin’ Grid. He also uses this new persona to develop the Beast X King Zord for his own nefarious purposes, but the plan backfire after the Beast Morphers Rangers are able to regain control of the zord. He is eventually found out after an alteration with Robo Roxy where Grid Battleforce volunteers to be Mayor Daniel’s bodyguards, running out of Morph-X and turning into Evox right in front of the Beast Morphers Rangers. He is separated from Mayor Daniels however after the Red Beast Morphers Rangers uses the Dino Charge Rangers Split Emitters to separate the two of them. He then becomes severely weakened after this, requiring a significant amount of Morph-X to recover. Evox’s next plan has him teaming up with the galactic criminal, Ryjack to obtain Morph-X so that he could regain his strength and later uses Ryjack’s Reanimizer to revive various villains to assist him in his plan to create an evil zord known as the Chimerazord. Evox eventually returns to full power after charging himself with enough Morph-X and pilots the Omegadrone in order to trick the Beast Morphers Rangers into trapping him inside Grid Battleforce Headquarters.
After Evox is able to download himself into Grid Battleforce’s Computer Systems, he breaks into their Ranger Vault and downloads the remaining code of the Venjix Virus from the Cell Shift Morpher, making him whole again. He also gains the ability to create Robotrons from his own being and gains an immunity to the Beast Morphers Ranger’s weapons after absorbing their data. He then enacts his final plans of gaining access to every Morph-X Tower in the world, destroying the Silver Beast Morphers Ranger when he attempts to destroy him with an Anti Virus Arrow developed by Nate Silva & Doctor K. After destroying the Silver Beast Morphers Ranger, he merges with a Morph-X Tower to create his ultimate body and is too much for the Beast X Ultrazord until the Beast Morphers Rangers figure out his weakness is Human DNA, where they are able to destroy him for good with a slash from the Beast X King Megazord infused with Human DNA.

Evox’s design is original to Power Rangers.

However, Tokumei Sentai Go-Buster has a similar character named Messiah who is also a sentient computer virus. His mobile forms are also used for Evox in the second season.

Scrozzle
Voiced By: Campbell Cooley
Seasons: Power Rangers Beast Morphers, Power Rangers Dino Fury & Power Rangers Cosmic Fury
Scrozzle is a robotic scientist and the ruler of the Cyber Dimension that swears his loyalty to Evox out of fear after he is teleported to the Cyber Dimension. Scrozzle is very well-versed in technology, creating a teleportation device to travel from the Cyber Dimension to Earth and creating robots like the Tronics, Robotrons & Gigadrones. After obtaining specific technology, which includes a Neural Aligner and some tech from the Special-Ops Hangar, Scrozzle reveals his plans to free Evox by opening up a Cybergate and creating a corporeal body from parts he stole from the Special-Ops Hangar. However, this fails after the Cybergate is dismantled by Grid Battleforce and the robotic body becoming Steel, the Silver Beast Morphers Ranger. Scrozzle eventually creates a new robot body for Evox but after the Beast Morphers Rangers travel to the Cyber Dimension to rescue the captured Red Beast Morphers Ranger and stops Evox, Scrozzle retreats the Cyber Dimension and remains in hiding for a time. Scrozzle later comes back on Christmas to trap the Beast Morphers Rangers in Christmas Ornaments and later piloted Infernodrone to destroy Coral Harbor, presumably being destroyed after Infernodrone is destroyed by the Beast Racer Zord Battle Mode. However, it is revealed that Scrozzle survived this altercation and has resumed his place as Evox’s second-in-command and later builds Robo-Blaze & Robo-Roxy to serve Evox. Scrozzle commandeers Ryjack’s Reanimizer after he is destroyed to revive various villains to assist Evox in creating the Chimerazord. Scrozzle’s next mission is to build the Omegadrone for Evox to use to trick the Beast Morphers Rangers into imprisoning him in Grid Battleforce Headquarters. After Evox is revealed to have been the Venjix Virus, he is ordered to break into the Morph-X Computer Systems while the Beast Morphers Rangers were fighting Robo Blaze. During Evox’s final battle against the Beast Morphers Rangers, Scrozzle is revealed to have teleported to Corinth and hid in its sewers for a year until he is found by Ben & Betty, being imprisoned in Grid Battleforce Headquarters. He is eventually broken out by Lord Zedd to assist him in obtaining his Z Staff from the Crystal Dimension, joining his army as his chief scientist. After teaming up with The Voids, he uses data from Boomtower & Snageye to create two robotic generals to be used as extra muscle for their mission on Rafkon. After Lord Zedd discovers the Sporix Generator on Rafkon, Scrozzle repairs it and nearly succeeds in activating it before retreating to unknown parts prior to Master Green crystalizing Lord Zedd. She is hired by Bajillia Naire to build a device called the Master Captivator in order to capture all six Morphin’ Masters. He is also responsible for creating a corrupted version of Ollie Akana’s Dino Fury Morpher and creating a new weapon for him, the Tricera Blaster. He is later tasked with assisting Bajillia in activating the Cosmic Dragon Zord hidden on Akraal but is gagged and tied up by Zayto. Scrozzle is later present on Eltar to capture Master Zedd in the Master Captivator, revealing to have created the device for the sole purpose of creating an evil Z-Wave and nearly activates it until they are in interrupted by Mucus & Slyther in a Squid Drill. He is last seen retreating from Eltar.

Scrozzle has no Sentai Counterpart and was most likely created to fill out Power Rangers villain roster due to its sentai counterpart, Tokumei Sentai Go-Buster having a very small villain roster.
