Whilst out motocrossing for a charity event race, the Rangers witness strange occurrences in the sky. The cause of this is revealed to be the arrival of Lord Zedd, Rita’s superior. Tired of Rita’s failures, Lord Zedd exiles her and takes control himself, vowing to finish the Rangers off once and for all.
Zedd’s Pirantishead monster successfully freezes most of the Rangers’ Dinozords barring the Tyrannosaurus, which he instead turns against the Rangers. Tommy’s Dragonzord also suffers the same fate. With two of their most powerful vetches under Zedd’s control, Zordon and Alpha are forced to upgrade their defenses, and provide the Rangers with new Thunder Zords
The Rangers, aware that they need to regain control of the Dinozords in order to finish activating the Thunderzords, work on reclaiming them with the aid of an electronic scrambler developed by Billy. They eventually succeed, but Lord Zedd is not about to let the Rangers gain such an easy victory.
Lord Zedd uses Zack’s white gorrila costume to create the Primator. The Primator is a shapeshifter, who can transform into any of the Rangers and uses this to trick them.
Lord Zedd casts a spell on Billy and Zack’s new glasses, causing them to think their fellow Ranger friends are actualy Putty Patrollers.
When the Rangers start up their own clubs down at the Youth Center, not many seem to be joining Kimberly’s gardening club, while Trini’s volleyball club is very popular. Lord Zedd uses this to his advantage and casts a spell on Kimberly, making her very jealous and hostile towards Trini. He then sends down the Bloom of Doom down to Earth and Kimberly needs to get over her jealousy and work with the team, if she hopes to defeat it.
When Tommy keeps having horrible nightmares about losing his Green Ranger powers, Lord Zedd calls on the Robo-Goat monster to capture Tommy and lure him to the dark side.
While cleaning up Angel Grove, the teens get trapped by the Octophantom monster who attempts to drain the Rangers of their powers.
While the Rangers are busy with a broom ball tournament against their rivals, Stone Canyon, Lord Zedd sends the Stag Beetle monster down to Earth.
When Trini’s young neighbor is kidnapped by Goldar while at the beach with the Rangers, they have to act fast and rescue her from the extremely dangerous Venus Island, where the Flytrap monster is awaiting their arrival.
When Lord Zedd spoils the Rangers’ picnic in the park, and unleashes his Guitardo monster on Angel Grove, it’s up to Kimberly and Tommy to rescue their Ranger friends from the trance Guitardo has them under.
Tommy gets a cryptic warning from his future self about the status of his dwindling powers. Meanwhile, the remaining Rangers have a problem of their own, when Lord Zedd has plans of assembling his own team of Dark Rangers.
Lord Zedd and Goldar trap Tommy in another dimension with plans to strip him of his Green Ranger powers once and for all.
Jason is still down in the dumps about Tommy losing his powers, but he must get over it quickly when the remaining four Rangers are imprisoned by Goldar. Unless he finds a way to rescue them, they will suffer the same demise as the Green Ranger.
On the eve of a Jazz festival in Angel Grove, Lord Zedd sends down his Trumpethead monster to attack the Rangers and cause them to believe they’re fighting monsters from their past.
The Rangers must put a stop to Lord Zedd’s evil plans when he decides that he would like to have a queen by his side and chooses Kimberly for the job.

The Rangers, angered by Zordon’s developing of a new Ranger without notifying them, are called back to the Command Center to witness his unveiling,. The identity of the Ranger soon becomes the least of their worries as Nimrod rises again to threaten Angel Grove with AC and DC.
While on a date with Tommy in Angel Grove Park, Kimbery’s purse is stolen by Zedd’s goon of putties. Lord Zedd makes monsters out of the purse, and the tube of lipstick inside it. The 6 Rangers must then split up and battle Pursehead and the Lipsyncher at the same time, when they attack Angel Grove.
Billy becomes smitten with one of Kimberly’s friends, whilst Zedd transforms the Blue Ranger’s new Polarizer device into the monster Magnet Brain…

The White Ranger confronts his clone, armed with the Green Ranger powers, and the two clash. Meanwhile, trapped in the 18th century, the powerless teens are confronted by the Wizard of Deception and two very large rats.

Tommy, Kimberly and Rocky ally themselves with a grouchy character from the storybook and journey to see a powerful Wizard. Zedd and Rita take Bulk and Skull’s custom made monster and turn into the genuine article. With the Turkey Jerk monster on the rampage, can the remaining Rangers find the storybook in time? And can the Rangers trapped inside ensure the book’s happy ending is preserved.
Kimberly is thrown backwards in time and finds herself in the old West, where she meets the ancestors of her Friends. Zedd plots to conquer Angel Grove in the past and makes preparations for his forces to travel there.
With Zedd’s forces poised to conquer the West, Kimberly has no choice but to teleport to the Command Center and ask Zordon to give the power coins to her friends’ ancestors.
Rita and Zedd turn an art sculpture of Billy into his exact double, while they kidnap the real Billy and hide him in an alternate dimension. The evil Billy goes on to trick the Rangers into giving up their Power Coins.
